Athena, Brutus, Caesar ... all are mythical characters in Greek mythology. Thanks to The Weather Channel, those names have become much more this winter season. The cable channel — home of weather stud Jim Cantore and weather geeks everywhere — was in its element recently as a winter storm barreled through Ohio.

But this wasn’t just any winter storm. We know the name for our wintry attacker, thanks to a new policy in which major winter storms receive names, just as hurricanes have been named for decades.
