I’m always puzzled by the question, “Do you believe in God?” and usually answer with, “Well, if there is a god, it’s a very local god.”

One day, a loooong time ago when my two sons were young, Sean came home from (Catholic) kindergarten and challenged me, flush with new knowledge, “Mom, guess who made the world?” To this I responded gingerly, sensing indoctrination: “Well, some people say ”God” made the world . . .”

Just then Colin, three,  piped up, while bouncing a ball, “Oh yeah, and there’s another god behind that one, and another god behind that one, and another god behind that one — there’s lotsa gods!”

In any case, these letters “to god” are LOL priceless.
