Through my intuitive and spiritual work, I have been given an unusual opportunity to see within the soul and hearts of those who have come to me. I honestly have to say sometimes I am just amazed at variety of lives, why just this weekend I was talking to an opera singer, an artist and a banker. What would they all have in common, one might ask - their soul. That infinite light that shines outward , that spark that is ignited within them. The radiant light that shines down deep within. It is beautiful when it comes out and shines as I am fortunate enough to witness. I thank God daily for this ability to see the true nature of ourselves. When this light decides to shine outward, well it shines throughout the whole body. The eyes will sparkle, the lips will form into a smile and their speech becomes animated as each person describes their talent, their ability to shine. I think we all have something special within that is given to us from the divine. I remember laughingly one time doing a reading for a woman and hesitating because what I was getting was about “housework”. I thought to myself “who wants to hear about dirty dishes”? Apparently she did. She was very proud of how she cleaned and how quickly she could clean. To others this may not be considered an amazing talent or gift, but to her it was. I encouraged her because once I saw that light shining through as she talked about it, I realized this was her unique gift. She later went on to manage a successful cleaning business.

So what is your gift? Not all of us are meant to be megastars with our name on Hollywood Boulevard, although some are, but all of us are meant to shine. We are meant to shine in our own way, at any age and at any time. That is because within us is the divine and the ability to create, to be, to develop, to heal, to cure, to share, to invent, to solve and to resolve and mostly to love one another. When we shine we allow others to shine too. There is no competition in the light of spirit. Think of the stars that look like they are right next to each other, well truth be known they are many, many miles apart. They don’t need to compete they just need to be, to allow that light to shine outward.

So what is stopping you or me or anybody? Fear. Fear we are not good enough, smart enough, pretty enough, creative enough…..the comparing is all around us but mostly inside of us. When we allow our light to shine we nurture and perfect our craft whatever it is. My intuitive ability is not the same as when I started nor should it be. The more we work at something the more we do grow. We forget in our society that all abilities must be honed and developed. It takes work to keep our light shining but it also takes trust. So what stops us from growing? Fear. I see many people who when I tell them that I see their light and I know they can do well, they either don’t believe me or think that I am somehow just being nice to them. But, truthfully, I wish they could see what I see – the beauty if their light.
Unfortunately, I also see the results of fear. The self-sabotage that comes from when fear takes hold. Fear will manifest itself in many cunning ways. Suddenly they develop parameters of how their success should happen. They end up building a wall instead of a doorway. Or, they decrease the amount of success they can have, bargaining away their sense of deserve-ability until very little is left. I have had to work on that one myself. Or, they blame something else – or someone else – well if this person, or my body, or my money or my upbringing. So on and so on. But what happens is the more fear takes over the thinking the more the light dims. Instead of a roaring fireplace it becomes a whimpering candle ready to go out with the next strong wind of disappointment or discouragement. For many facing fear, it does become hard when it seems that the only one believing in you may be you. But you are not alone. When you are acting from the light the angels gather around to applaud. The more you are aligned with spirit the more you receive the support and inspiration you need. Yet the fears can cloud your perception, diminish the sun within, sort of like an Cleveland winter.

See, we really are light beings created to shine to create, to bring forth light into the world. To not do so is to some may deny who we are, the divine within us. To do so, is to bring forth the light through our lives and live to our fullest potential. If you could see what I see you would probably not spend one more moment in self doubt or comparison with another. Sometimes I want to grab people and say “go for it” or “just do it already” because even if there are stumbles on the path, challenges, that light will still find its way.

If you could see what I see you would be humbled by the beauty of it all, the grace of the divine and the inspiration that comes from spirit. For many of you, you can see what I see, and in doing so are bringing forth the light out of others as well. Just remember as you go along your life if feels like it is snuffing out your candle then turn the other way. You are a light being that deserves to shine.
