a Child wake up Call

"Mother and child" by ANdReA

Do you remember how it was being a child... with your parents, or whoever took care of you... can you remember how upset you got each time someone told you not do something because it could be harmful for you... and maybe you were enjoying it so much. Did you always listen? Nope, not if you could, because you were exploring... and then came the teens... and again you were told to watch out, you were told what’s harmful for you, or others... Oh boy how upset this made you! Even if not all of us had a nice childhood, all of us have experienced at least few times what it means being told that something is harful and not listening to it. And if you did not experience it... did you not miss it, did you not look at others with a kind of “I’d like to have someone that looks after me?” Because being told that if we played with fire we got burned... and getting burned because we simply did not trust it... hurts! This is what a Mother should do... show the way and then let her children free to learn... can you see the bigger picture? A True Mother or Father... they tell you. They tell you because they love you. But still, they let you free to choose. For they’d love to see you happy, but will not interfere if you feel like not wanting to be happy. That’s True Love. And if after exploring your own world you decide to go back Home... your True Mother and Father will be on the door with open arms saying: Welcome Home. Are you hungry? Thsi is the True face of Unconditional Love. Thus what education system did is teach everyone that love has a price. That love hurts. That you cannot feel Love without suffering for it... bullshit! True and deep bullshit! That is not love, that is dualistic excange. Love asks nothing, Love gives. And Love tells the Truth... the rest, is up to you. To choose to feel what a Real Loving embrace feels like, or to go on believeing that you have to loose something for Love. Your Mother and Father... they ask nothing. They would simply like to see you smile. So please... smile, and make Them Happy with your own happiness.

Massive CME expelled on farside of the Sun

March 27, 2012 – ANOTHER CME FROM SUNSPOT AR1429: Transiting the farside of the sun, never-say-die sunspot AR1429 erupted during the late hours of March 26th, producing its 11th major CME. The Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) photographed the cloud flying over the sun’s eastern limb. According to a forecast track prepared by analysts at the Goddard Space Weather Lab, the CMEwill hit two spacecraft, STEREO-B and Spitzer, on March 28th. Earth is not in the line of fire. This event shows that AR1429, the source of several strong geomagnetic storms in early March, is still active. It will begin turning back towards our planet about a week from now. NOAA forecasters estimate a 30% to 45% chance of strong geomagnetic storms around the poles on March 28-29 in response to an incoming solar wind stream. –Space Weather

APNewsBreak: Report warns of nuke risk in Calif.

The utility that runs California's San Onofre nuclear plant misled federal regulators about equipment and design changes that are the likely cause of extensive wear on tubing that carries radioactive water, a report commissioned by an environmental group claimed Tuesday.

The report by nuclear consultants Fairewinds Associates warns that a more detailed study is needed on the alloy tubing in the plant's steam generators before the twin reactors at San Onofre are restarted, according to a copy obtained by The Associated Press. The study was produced for nuclear watchdog Friends of the Earth.

A plume of smoke rises skyward over the top of a wildfire burning out of control near Conifer, Colo., March 26, 2012.

US: Conifer, Colorado - One person has been found dead in a Colorado wildfire that burned more than 4½ square miles and destroyed at least five homes in the mountains southwest of Denver, authorities said Monday.

The victim's name wasn't immediately released and investigators haven't said how the person died.

The fast-moving wildfire was reported at midday Monday and spread quickly amid dry, windy weather.

"We're in a defensive mode, structure protection only," Jefferson County Sheriff's spokeswoman Jacki Kelley said. "We're not really fighting the fire right now."

Kelley said authorities don't know how many houses were lost but said it was at least five and probably more than 10.

Authorities ordered residents of more than 900 homes to evacuate.

There were no other reports of injuries, but a sheriff's deputy who was alerting residents to leave was trapped in his patrol car after he inadvertently drove into a ditch in the thick smoke, Kelley said. He summoned help by radio.

Up to a dozen smaller fires were reported from the northeast Colorado plains to the southern part of the state. There were no immediate reports of injuries or structures destroyed in any of the other fires.

Last week’s super dust storm over the Arabian Sea

On March 20, 2012, a giant dust plume stretched across the Arabian Sea from the coast of Oman to India. The Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on NASA’s Aqua satellite took this picture bellow the same day. This extensive plume followed days of dust-storm activity over the Arabian Peninsula and Southwest Asia.

Gulf News reported that several meteorologists had characterized the late March dust activity in this region as a “super sandstorm” with effects reaching as far as Southeast Asia. The dust storm resulted from the convergence of two different storms. The first front carried dust from Iraq and Kuwait, and the second front stirred dust in southeastern Iran. (EO)

“For many it was the worst dust storm in recent years,” Gulf News said

VOLCANO

Guatemalan Volcanoes Increase Activity

Guatemalan volcanoes Santiaguito and Fuego increased their activity in the last hours and the authorities recommended on Monday took all the necessary precautions with the surrounding air traffic.

The dispersion of ash in various directions and changes in wind pattern led to the National Institute of Seismology, Volcanology, Meteorology and Hydrology (Insivumeh) to warn about the civil aviation.

An Insivumeh report that Santiaguito volcano recorded 33 explosions in 24 hours, with a range of up to 800 meters above the crater, leaving ashes scattered in the southwest and southeast.

Santiaguito volcano is located in Quetzaltenango district, and its height is 2,550 meters above sea level.

The Insivumeh reported white and blue plume up to 100 meters above the crater, with displacement to the southwest, in the case of Fuego volcano, whose height is 3,763 meters above sea level and is located between the departments of Sacatepequez, Chimaltenango and Escuintla (center south).

Ecuador’s Tungurahua volcano emits 3 km ash cloud amidst explosions

March 27, 2012 – ECUADOR – Tungurahua volcano’s activity has been increasing, Ecuador’s Instituto Geofísico reports. Throughout the morning of March 26, a constant column of steam and ash was rising from the summit crater, reaching up to 3 km height and drifting towards the northeast, where ash fall occurred. Ash fall was significant in the San Francisco and Black River areas, and mild in Baños, the Ventanas en Runtún, Juive, Pondoa, Puntzán and Cusúa sectors. Occasional roaring explosion sounds were heard from small to moderate explosive events. Seismic activity remains characterized by volcanic tremor episodes lasting several minutes, interspersed with tremor bursts and long-period events, which are related to fluid movements within the volcano. –Volcano Discovery

Increased volcano activity: Popocatepétl, Batu Tara, Tungurahua, Santiaguito, Volcán de Fuego, Lamington

Volcanoes around the world are showing an increase in activity again. Here is the overview of last 24 – 48 hours of recorded activity, indepth analisys will be made after all reports come in. 6 volcano updates since March 25.

Popocatepétl volcano (Mexico): signs of increasing activity

Popocatepétl volcano in Mexico has been showing signs of increased activity. During 24-25 March, the volcano had 33 small steam and gas emissions, accompanied by small earthquakes and volcanic tremor. On Saturday night, incandescence was observed at the crater.

Popocatépetl, whose name is the Aztec word for smoking mountain, towers to 5426 m 70 km SE of Mexico City to form North America’s 2nd-highest volcano. The glacier-clad stratovolcano contains a steep-walled, 400 x 600 m wide crater.

Batu Tara volcano (Indonesia): larger ash eruption

Volcano Batu Tara in the Sunda Sea off the island of Flores in Indonesia had a larger than usual ash eruption on March 26, which triggered an alert of the VAAC Darwin, who raised the aviation color code to “orange”, as the drifting ash cloud is be a hazard to local air traffic.

Batu Tara is one of the most active volcanoes in Indonesia and is characterized, similar to Stromboli volcano, by semi-permanent explosive summit activity.

Until 2006, the only confirmed historical eruption from Batu Tara were during 1847-52, which produced explosions with volcanic bombs and a lava flow. On July 1st, 2006, Batu Tara was observed erupting again. An ash plume rose to 5000 ft (ca 2 km). Since then, it has been erupting frequently. Most eruptions were strombolian or vulcanian type, with explosions producing ash plumes of 1-2 km, similar to Anak Krakatau’s activity.

In March 2007, a phase of stronger eruptions promted the evacuation of 15000 people from Lembata Island nearby.

Tungurahua volcano (Ecuador): constant ash emissions and ash fall

Eruptive column above Tungurahua volcano reaching about 2 km height and heading towards the northeast was reported on March 26.

Tungurahua volcano’s activity has been increasing, Ecuador’s Instituto Geofísico reports.

Santiaguito volcano (Guatemala): increased activity

Guatemalan volcano Santiaguito increased activity. The authorities on March 26th took all the necessary precautions with the surrounding air traffic.

The massive dacitic Santiaguito lava-dome complex has been growing at the base of the 1902 crater since 1922. Compound dome growth at Santiaguito has occurred episodically from four westward-younging vents, the most recent of which is Caliente. Dome growth has been accompanied by almost continuous minor explosions, with periodic lava extrusion, larger explosions, pyroclastic flows, and lahars.

Fuego (Guatemala): increased activity

Guatemalan volcano Fuego also increased activity. Authorities took all the necessary precautions with the surrounding air traffic. The Insivumeh reported white and blue plume up to 100 meters above the crater, with displacement to the southwest, in the case of Fuego volcano, whose height is 3,763 meters above sea level and is located between the departments of Sacatepequez, Chimaltenango and Escuintla (center south).

Volcano Fuego is one of Central America’s most active volcanoes. It’s one of three large stratovolcanoes overlooking Guatemala’s former capital, Antigua. The scarp of an older edifice, Meseta, lies between 3763-m-high Fuego and its twin volcano to the north, Acatenango.

Lamington (Papua New Guinea): smoke and ash emission

Local community of Popendetta reported smoke and ash emission on March 25. No official reports have come in yet.

Lamington is an andesitic stratovolcano with a 1.3-km-wide breached summit crater containing a lava dome.

After a long quiescent period, the volcano sprang suddenly to life in 1951, producing a powerful explosive eruption during which devastating pyroclastic flows and surges swept all sides of the volcano, killing nearly 3000 persons. The eruption concluded with growth of a 560-m-high lava dome in the summit crater.

Some reports of 1951 eruption say that not enough percautions were taken and it led to many casualties.

SOUNDS

Mysterious Boom Heard from Soledad to Seaside

Salinas, California - Somebody get Fox Mulder. A mysterious loud boom was heard and felt Monday morning from as far south as Soledad all the way north to Seaside Monday morning.

The big boom happened at 10:51 a.m. and rattled residents in Soledad, Chualar, Pebble Beach, Carmel, Monterey, Salinas, Marina, and Seaside.

Military and law enforcement officials told KSBW they are not sure what caused the explosive-like sound.

Several residents said they ran outside, looked up, and spotted an extremely fast-moving military jet making a U-turn over the Carmel Valley.

"Almost broke my windows, ran outside and saw a curved jet stream over Carmel Valley," resident Melinda Mayland said.

With no confirmed cause of the boom, rumors about UFO's, and requests to alert X-Files TV character FBI Special Agent Fox Mulder, quickly spread through the local rumor mill.

It is not unusual for U.S. Navy planes on training missions to fly out of Naval Air Station Lemoore near Visalia, Calif. and streak over south Monterey County. Their powerful engines can cause a sonic boom when they break the sound barrier.
