One of the more well-known objects within our galaxy, the Ring Nebula has been observed by astronomers since the late 1700s. It is a definitive planetary nebula, visible from Earth as a bright and multi-colored ring of material violently expelled from a sun-like star reaching the end of its life. Looking like a gigantic cosmic eye, the Ring Nebula has been imaged countless times — but new observations with the Hubble Space Telescope have finally revealed its true shape.

It’s a big doughnut.

Full Moon Eclipse: May 24/25, 2013

a message from Kara Schallock

Friday, 24 May, 2013

The last Eclipse of this current Eclipse Trinity is upon us. It occurs May 24 at 10:11 p.m. (Mountain Standard Time.) Do you notice the interesting number of 111? “An energetic gateway has opened for you, rapidly manifesting your thoughts into reality. Choose your thoughts wisely at this time…don’t put any energy into…fears at all, lest you manifest them,” according to Doreen Virtue’s Angel Numbers. This statement actually carries the energy of all three Eclipses. Each has built upon the last, making this time incredibly powerful for each of us, depending on what we’ve focused our attention on, and will focus on as we pass through this last gateway.

What's in a Name? Asteroid, Meteor, Meteorite, Meteoroid

A fireball over the Netherlands and German skies taken in October 2009

A couple of month's ago we watched Russia's fireball situation in part fascination and part horror. Since then, we have been asked a lot of questions about what that was and why NASA did not warn us? Well, let's get into a couple of terms and see if we can make some sense of this.

Simply put, an asteroid is a large chunk of rock in space. In our solar system, most of asteroids are located between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. NASA can and does track asteroids that may interact with the Earth.

A meteoroid is smaller than an asteroid. What entered Russia's atmosphere a few months back was a meteoroid that developed into a fireball that was not tracked by NASA. Meteoroids are scattered throughout the solar system. More on fireballs below.

57: Chirinkotan Volcano erupts in Kuril Islands of Far East Russia

Desert Gypsy's picture

Theextinctionprotocol.com-5/24/13

May 24, 2013 RUSSIA, FAR EAST - The remote volcano in the northern Kuriles is probably in eruption, the latest SVERT report and satellite images suggest. A plume of gas and steam, and possibly some minor amounts ash was seen with the MODIS sensor onboard the NASA Terra satellite this morning. Satellite data also indicate that activity had likely already started in early May, because a small thermal anomaly can be traced back on archive pictures to 7 May. One should take into account that frequent dense cloud cover often prevents such observations, so activity could have started earlier than that. It is not known what kind of activity is occurring at the volcano. Possibilities include some minor explosive (strombolian ?) activity at the summit, or lava flows that might be reaching the sea and produce the steam plume observed. The last eruption of the volcano was (probably) in 2004.

Dana Mrkich ~ Frozen Aspects And Emotions Now Thawing! ~24 May 2013

Lia's picture

Whatever aspects and emotions of ourselves that we put ‘on ice’ because we didn’t know at the time how to adequately deal with them are now on thaw mode, melting, melting. And when I say now, I’m meaning specifically now, today, tonight, this week, and tomorrow with the energy of this very powerful (is there any other kind?) Lunar Eclipse!

We can either open the door to them gracefully and let the water (tears, energy, old desires, emotions, repressed aspects) flow, or we can keep the door shut and then they’ll flood the room, break the door and wall down and come at us like a tsunami!

Right at this minute we don’t need to know the specifics of what is behind each door. It is enough to say:

“I am willing for the door to open to all of the aspects and emotions within me that are now ready to come out, to be seen, to be heard, to be expressed, to be loved, to be healed. I ask that this happen in a gentle and easeful way. Thank you.”

800 Scientists Demand Global GMO “Experiment” End

Silver's picture

Naturalsociety, By: Elizabeth Renter, 05/24/2013

Did you hear about the 800 esteemed scientists who came together and demanded the production of genetically modified crops and products be stopped? Scientists who called on world powers to re-evaluate the future of agriculture and seek sustainability rather than corporate profits? Don’t be surprised if you haven’t, as the mainstream media won’t touch this one.

Eight-hundred scientists did make such a demand. They made it first over a decade ago and they have updated it over the years, adding signatures and release dates. Still global powers have all but ignored their calls.
