The Spiritual Ego revisited; clarification of concepts.

Hello my loves.

Today I am going to share my truth with you and cover a topic that isn't necessarily going to win me any popularity contests within the Lightworker community, but it is something that I feel in my heart is important to share. 

I ask that while digesting the contents of this message you suspend judgement and look beyond these words. Rather, I ask that you focus on the meaning and intent behind the words rather than the syntax itself. We all know how clumsy and cumbersome language can be when transmitting concepts, so I will do my best to use metaphors and examples to communicate. Integrate what resonates with your heart and discard the rest. Thank you for bearing with me as I delve into this sometimes difficult topic. 

In recent times, there has been a lot of talk about the dissolving of the Ego. This is a wonderful and joyous transformation! However, I have observed that many within the community have attached a very specific interpretation of the function of the Ego and tend to have a knee-jerk response to all others. As we embody more of our Higher Selves, our actions and words come from the heart rather than the illusion-based directives of the Ego. The energy enveloping this planet allows for programs and fear-based paradigms to dissolve, but that doesn't tell the whole story. It doesn't mean you are dissolving the Ego completely.

Now I'm going to get right down to it, so stay with me..

The truth is that except for Source itself, every being in creation has a form of Ego. 

This sounds like a radical statement, but only according to a certain model of thinking that attaches a negative connotation to what the Ego is actually for. Allow me to define what I mean by this, and you will see that it is only a difference of semantics, not function. There is power and understanding in this paradox.

At the core of your being-ness, you are nothing. No-thing. You are pure awareness; the consciousness that all life is made from. We call it Source. Source has no knowledge or awareness of Self. Self is only made possible via the Ego. The Ego is merely the focused point of awareness that facilitates an experience for Source; a tool. It is the container for everything that makes you a unique individual in the whole of creation. What you are actually dissolving are the programs and impressions within the Mind, not the Ego itself. 

For example, imagine yourself as a computer (Ego). This computer started off completely fresh, and over time people installed various programs (Beliefs) on the hard drive and implanted certain viruses (Illusions) in the memory. Now the CPU (Mind) has become corrupted. Eventually, the computer could no longer perform the purpose for which it was created. Then the virus started to believe that it was the computer, rather than a program within the computer. It became rampant. Now from here, imagine light and love as anti-virus and anti-spyware, with the computer technician as your Angels. You can wipe the memory clean and you can erase the viruses. You can even reformat the entire computer to factory settings and get rid of the operating system (Paradigms). You've wiped the slate clean and cleared all of your beliefs and illusions! You can dissolve the memory, dissolve the data, and even dissolve the operating system itself, but the computer itself is still there. 

Here's another example: imagine Source as the air itself. You can take a balloon (Ego), and fill it with air. You can expand and make it bigger, or even put different types of air in it (densities). If you wish, you can transfer that air into a bigger balloon that allows for greater expansion (transitioning to a higher form of existence). As this balloon expands and gains more awareness and consciousness (the air), the boundaries of that awareness (the Veil, or membrane) gets thinner and thinner. This balloon cannot expand so large to encompass all of the sky without becoming the sky. Eventually, the balloon will get thinner and thinner and pops (dropping the Ego) and that air rejoins the sky from whence it came.

I suspect that by now, my meaning is getting a little clearer, so at the risk of being redundant here is one last example:

Imagine Source as a limitless ocean. The ocean doesn't know its an ocean. It doesn't even know its made of water. So the ocean by function of its nature divides itself into aspects (different states of water) in order to experience itself. The ocean can solidify a portion of itself into an iceberg (Ego), through which it interacts with everything else. The iceberg can evaporate into cloud form, oxygen, or any other state that water can take. No matter what form the water takes, it still came from the ocean. When the iceberg melts (dropping the Ego once again), it rejoins the ocean. 

You are an expression of Source. You are made by and from it, and you can access it within yourself. But you are not conscious of all of it at once. Remember all of the things you love and enjoy? Your music preferences, your taste in food, hobbies, your knowledge and experiences and your physical habits. Where do you think they are stored? Your Mind which is contained within the Ego. Source doesn't have a preference. The very idea and concept of a preference is constructed from Source. Even the concept of Mind is an illusory concept; a tool Source uses to experience itself through you. Source itself possesses no individuality for it is all things and no-thing. You are reading this message on an electronic device. If you did not have an Ego, you would not be reading this message on a computer because you would be the message and the computer. You would be everything. There would be no interaction or need for it because you would be in the state of full Oneness and God-Consciousness. You can come close, but you will still have some manner of Ego. Without Ego there is no Other nor is there an experience of Other. Anything that has experience and form has an Ego. Source does not have experiences; it receives impressions of experiences through your existence because Source itself resides in a realm of non-existence. Because Source has no awareness of Self, it created a Self in the illusory form of what we call the Creator, which then "split" further into the Divine Father and Divine Mother and so on. However keep in mind that the Ego of a divine aspect or Arch-Angel is constructed very differently than that of a human being. 

With this, I would encourage you to re-define what you think the Ego is. After all, they're just words. The concept is what matters. Think of Ego as the illusory boundary that allows you to be you without perceiving everything at once. It is a necessary aspect of creation at all levels. As you "travel up the chain" to higher and higher vibrations and densities, there are still layers of Illusion and Ego because True Reality is unmanifested potential. This is a wonderful thing! This is the gift we were given out of Love for life to be! The fact that you are here having a human experience is the proof in the pudding, so to speak. If you had truly dropped and dissolved your Ego fully, you would no longer exist. The illusion would cease. Discarding the 3D illusion does not mean discarding all illusion, because you are reading one right now. But you still have so much more to experience, which means your Ego still has a job to do!

I have noticed that whenever you try to tell a Heart centered person that they still have an Ego, they insist that they don't or that it is in the process of being dissolved. This is a trap the Spiritual Ego uses to hide itself from you. It is a belief system propagated by well-meaning but misinformed Lightworkers and cognitive dissonance is the result. I am reminded of an old saying the Catholic community uses and it fits in this situation: "The Devil's greatest trick was convincing the world he didn't exist."

The more you become aware of a rampant or Spiritual Ego, the more it tries to hide itself from you. Can you now see the folly of disowning your Ego? To do so is an attitude of exclusion, rather than acceptance. Denial will not serve you in this case. It is still a belief, one that will cause you to stumble when you least expect it. To grow, you must accept and own the Ego as an essential part of your multi-dimensional nature and Love it for what it allows you to experience: everything! 

So you, as a unique expression of the universe, must have an Ego in order to be an individual. You cannot be without Ego and have a personality at the same time. Allowing your Ego to own you and disowning the Ego are two sides of the same coin. Can you look in the mirror and deny you have eyes to see? 

Wisdom comes in whether or not you allow the Ego to identify itself as you, and become rampant. The Ego is a gift that allows you life and experience; that allows you a perspective. So keep Ego in perspective and recognize it as the tool that it is. Part of ascension is to put the Ego in the passenger seat to enjoy the ride and let the Heart do the driving until the experience we call Creation has ended for us.
