What makes nature so innocent and appealing? I thought about this for a while and it seems to me we love it so because nature has no agenda! It is pure and as real as you see it. We have been had from every angle in our lives and it is exhausting, but when we are in nature it is so life-giving because it is not trying to sell you something, or sway you, or lie to you. What you see is what you get. How refreshing is that? It is why we love nature, it reboots us and re-energizes us. It is our life line to sanity and yet sadly, we continue to destroy it. We need to understand that without nature we do not exist. Humans seem to have drifted so far astray it seems overwhelming when we think about all of the things we need to fix that we have destroyed in one way or the other. Where do we even begin? The majority of destruction taking place is being done by large corporations such as gas companies, lumber companies, fracking companies, farming you name it. So how can we help save the earth you say?

MIDLAND, Texas  — A severe winter storm, which brought 19 inches of snow to some areas of West Texas, delivered something entirely different to one homeowner.

Winds in excess of 60 mph that accompanied Winter Storm Rocky on Monday pushed hundreds of tumbleweeds against a Midland home.

Sculptor Fran Volz uses a clay model to create a a 7 1/2 feet tall snow sculpture of Jesus Christ in the yard of his home in Elgin, Ill.

ELGIN, Ill. (AP) — A passer-by stops in his tracks and dials a friend to tell him he must come to this Wellington Street address to see Jesus. He is emphatic.

"You gotta get here," he insists.

Twin waterspouts were captured on video nearing the coast of Benidorm, a town along the east coast of Alicante, Spain, on Thursday afternoon, Feb. 28, 2013.

"There's a lot of cold aloft over relatively warm water, making the atmosphere unstable," AccuWeather Expert Senior Meteorologist Jim Andrews said. This type of unstable pattern can set the stage for the development of waterspouts.
