MessageToEagle.com - Rapid, almost sudden, changes take place in the Earth’s magnetic field.

A German-French group of geophysicists observed that - changes in the earth's magnetic field in a region stretching from the Atlantic to the Indian Ocean - have a close relationship with variations of gravity in this area.

From this it can be concluded that outer core processes are reflected in gravity data. This is the result presented by scientists in the latest issue of PNAS.

The main field of the Earth's magnetic field is generated by flows of liquid iron in the outer core. The Earth's magnetic field protects us from cosmic radiation particles.

Residents in Fujairah have described how they fled from their homes when they felt mild tremors during an earthquake on Sunday night.

  2. The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) said yesterday that three mild earthquakes shook northern parts of the UAE and the Oman Sea.

    The weathermen said in a statement that the first quake struck at 8.13pm in the sea about 33km north of Fujairah city and measured 3.8 in magnitude on the Richter scale.

JARRETTSVILLE, Md. — Harford County officials say the National Weather Service believes a tornado is to blame for damage in Jarrettsville over the weekend.

The county says National Weather Service representatives made the assessment after a visit to the area on Saturday. Officials say the weather service will make a formal declaration of the tornado touchdown on Monday after a review of storm data.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- A tornado touched down north of the state capital Monday afternoon, but only minor damage was reported. The National Weather Service in Sacramento says it had no reports of injuries from the tornado, which hit about 3:15 p.m. near Yuba City, about 40 miles north of Sacramento.

"We've had reports of power lines down and some outbuildings damaged," said meteorologist Eric Kurth said. "Some kind of a small outbuilding was lifted about 200 feet from where it was located."

VietNamNet Bridge - After the dam of Song Tranh 2 hydropower plant was cracked and continuous earthquakes occurred in this area, the authorities of Quang Nam province have reviewed and determined to cancel 23 hydropower projects in the area.

This morning, October 22, the Office of Quang Nam People's Committee announced the conclusion made by Quang Nam’s Chairman Le Phuoc Thanh about the review of hydropower projects in the province.

Based on the review, Chairman Thanh has formally requested to halt 23 small and medium projects. Specifically, Thanh asked to stop research of 18 projects and reject two others from the province’s hydropower development plan.

An earthquake, the strongest since 1957, occurred last night in Quang Nam Province’s Bac Tra My District, where the Song Tranh 2 Hydropower Plant is located, panicking thousands of local residents.
