In the Cape Girardeau, Missouri, case, it was around 8 PM local time on April 12, 1941, when Baptist Reverend William Guy Huffman, age 52, received an urgent phone call from the Cape Girardeau Police Department. His ministerial services were needed at a sudden, terrible accident in the farm country midway between Cape Girardeau and Chaffee that are about sixteen miles apart. A policeman arrived at the Huffman home to take Reverend Huffman.
