A preliminary 6.4-magnitude earthquake struck 452 miles northwest of the Balleny Islands region early this morning at 2:32 a.m., but presented no tsunami threat to Hawaii, according to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center. The earthquake struck at a depth of about 6.3 miles. The Balleny Islands are a series of uninhabited volcanic islands that are part of Antarctica. –Star Advisor

Seismic movement in Hunza: Landslides affect 15 families, damage infrastructure

GILGIT: 

At least 15 families have abandoned their houses due to landslides triggered by tremors in two villages of Hunza-Nagar District.

The landslides damaged a main water channel and other public and private property in Mayoon and Hussainabad villages.

“At least 15 families have moved in with their relatives in view of the looming threat,” Shahzad Hussain, a resident of the area told The Express Tribune on Monday. He said that the landslides started two weeks ago.

 A geomagnetic storm is in progress as Earth passes through the wake of a CME that arrived on Oct. 8th. Reports of auroras are coming in from across Canada and all the northern-tier US states. Beth Allan sends this picture from Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta: “The auroras outside of Edmonton were so bright for a while that it was easy to walk around in the field I was standing in,” says Allan.

“The lights were moving so fast and were so crisp that it felt like I could reach out and touch them. Really astounding!” High-latitude sky watchers should remain alert for auroras as Earth’s magnetic field continues to reverberate from the CME strike. A new and possibly significant active region is emerging at the circled location (below) on the sun’s northern limb. –Space Weather

When you play music at high volumes or with a lot of bass you will notice the cone of the speaker moving in and out. In a sense, this can be construed as the visualization of sound.

What is fascinating is that the vibration of sound according to differing frequencies can cause the most beautiful and intricate patterns in mediums such as sand or water.

Cymatics, which is the study of visible sound, was a term coined by Swiss scientist, Hans Jenny, in the 1960s whilst experimenting with the visual display of sound.

Sound would have had an influence on the core skeleton or building blocks of first cellular life
