2015 Cancer Full Moon – Astrology Forecast

by Kathy Biehl

January 4-5, 2015

8:53 PM PST / 11:53 PM EST /  4:53 AM GMT

14 Cancer 30 / 14 Capricorn 30

The Cancer Full Moon, the first Full Moon of 2015 reawakens the most challenging energies of 2014 and reveals how far we’ve come.

Even if you’re faring well, the reveal promises discomfort and, ultimately, growth. Although Cancer is the sign of nesting, clucking and kissing booboos to make them better, we are more likely to be craving all that, rather than experiencing it.

The Cancer Full Moon stirs fundamental questions that have plagued us on and off for six years, and most pointedly since last April: How safe, nourished and nurtured do you feel? Do you feel at home in your skin? In the world? How? Where? What role do your relationships play in all your answers?

The Importance of Forgiving Yourself

By John Holland

Do you find forgiving yourself harder than forgiving others?

There may be times when you do something you’re not proud about. Yes, we all do it from time to time, some of us more often than others!

The feelings of shame and guilt will complicate your life causing stress and emotional discord. It weighs heavy on your soul. Societal conditioning encourages us to forgive everyone else for our actions, but if you don’t forgive yourself, you’ll end up holding the key to your own emotional captivity.

Many of us agonize over our past mistakes, living them over and over again in our minds, like a video player caught in a perpetual replay loop. It depletes your energy and prevents you from forgiving yourself. When you feel guilty, you attract punishment into your life, and in situations that are more serious, you even manifest it for yourself. It’s easy to reconcile the feelings, by saying: “I deserve this.”..

Astrology Forecast for January 2015: The Year of Coming True

By Kathy Biehl

January signals right out of the gate that this month — and this year — are vastly different from what we’ve experienced lately. Buoyant and brimming with possibility, this phase encourages coming into being, for a change, instead of coming apart.

Optimism and drive descend with the last chime of midnight on the 1st and propel us into a weekend of enlightened, and ultimately grounded, shape-shifting. Along the way, we could go overboard on resolutions, visions for living on a grander scale, and the immediate schedule taking shape.

A new sense of self is emerging from the pressures of late December 2013 and April, September and October of 2014, without the emotional charge of those times. Intense influences are working us over once again, as the Sun links to cosmic change agents Uranus and Pluto, and the Cancer Full Moon of the 4th awakens the pull and emotions of last April and our journey since then.

Put Your Whole Self In!

By Temple Hayes

Do you remember being a little kid and dancing to the song The Hokey Pokey, putting different parts of yourself into it and then being asked to “put your whole self in?” Remember how good it felt to shake your body and turn around? You were present, alive, and awake! Isn’t that what life is all about?

You put your whole self in! This really is what life is all about, but why do so few of us put our whole selves in?

When we are children we innately live in the moment by putting our whole selves in...

Old Soul in the New Energy

by Bob Mangroo

Since December of 2012, planet Earth entered a new energy and a new consciousness. As we look at the world today, it is tempting to think of it as dark and falling apart. We are, however, in a transition process.

Humanity is moving into higher consciousness, and we now have more positive energy on the planet than we have negative. For centuries, we functioned from an old, negative consciousness of war, violence, cruelty, and the need for power. This is now changing. The change may seem slow; but, humanity is shifting toward peace, cooperation, and compassion.

It may not seem this way at this time, but the increased negativity we see is the dark consciousness putting up its last fight for survival. Dark energy will resist change, even if that change is for the better. We are creatures of habit and we tend to like the way things are; or, we often wish to go back to the way things were. We enjoy the familiar, even if the familiar is negative.

2015 – An 8 Universal Year

“He that is of the opinion money will do everything may well be suspected of doing everything for money.” -Benjamin Franklin

The 8 Universal Year begins January 1st, 2015. When we are discussing the Universal Year, it is important to note that it applies to every country and every person on the planet and will set the tone for our collective experience in 2015.

This 8 Universal Year emphasizes everything having to do with money and it is time to get the world’s financial house in order. The 8 has the potential to make this a very prosperous year for the world economy but the 8 can also represent a Karmic reckoning. Wrongs will be righted under the influence of the 8. Major companies will be held accountable for any illegal business practices and will pay a hefty price for their behavior which can result in bankruptcies, lower profits and loss of revenue. Unstable economies will be forced to correct themselves. Japan, Greece, China and Europe...

Creating Your Own Sacred Space

by Andrew Pacholyk MS L.Ac

sacred-space_OMTimes

Making a sacred space of your own, whether it be an altar, meditation space, area for your crystal treasures or just room for you to breathe, can be a fun and exciting choice.

4 Steps to Create a Sacred Space

Creating a Sacred Space Step #1

First, find a space to use on a regular basis for “your” space.

Doing this, conditions your mind to become familiar and therefore feel relaxed once you are in the space, as it allows you to ascend. In time, just sitting in your space will immediately relax you.

Your space can be a small area in your home where you can sit with your eyes closed for at least a few minutes each day. Choose a clean, quiet place away from all distractions where you can sit on a chair or on the floor. If you use a chair, choose one that allows you to keep your back as straight as possible...

Your Brain on Meditation

by Lorri Amsden

meditation-brain_OMTimes

Science is beginning to prove what Buddhist monks have known all along, that those who engage in daily meditation permanently change the way their brains function. That the simple act of sitting quietly as you shift your attention to your breath, following as it slowing enters and leaves your body, not only allows for the cultivation of regenerative peace, but a myriad of new studies have found that this ancient practice can profoundly change the way different regions of the brain communicate with each other and therefore how we think.

Dr. Judson Brewer, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Yale School of Medicine, published a study that found that meditation appears to change the way the brain works and could give meditators a leg up; not only on handling stress and finding happiness, but also with facing illness and dealing with mental disorders...

Creating Clarity in Communication

By Marcia Sirota MD

clarity-in-communication_OMTimes

It’s so easy to have problems with communication. Often, we hear things wrong; maybe because there’s too much ambient noise obscuring the words of the speaker, or maybe because what the other person is saying is overshadowed by what we expect to hear.

We interpret what we’re hearing through the filters of our past experiences, belief systems and habitual patterns of interaction. All these psychological processes can significantly interfere with our ability to communicate, even more than being physically hard of hearing.

At the root of the word “communicate” is the concept of communing, or coming together. The essence of communication is the intention to come together: to know and to be known; to understand and be understood.

When we truly want clarity in communication, we must choose to leave our expectations, beliefs, attitudes and habits at the door and truly listen...

The Power of Everyday Celebrations

by Marci Shimoff

celebrations_OMTimes

Every day of our lives events occur that warrant celebration – some are large and some are small. One day we might clean out the junk drawer in the kitchen, the next we finish constructing the 4-foot garden we’d been putting off for months, and the next day we find out that our daughter is engaged.

It’s hard to imagine not celebrating your daughter’s engagement with a round of calls to all the relatives and a dinner where you raise your glasses to the bride and groom to be.

For me, it’s hard to imagine not celebrating the clean drawer.

I know that might sound extreme but the days are moving by at a rapid pace. Why are we only celebrating the big events — the weddings, the births, the promotions, the New Year?
